Over the years, dessert consumption has evolved with the time. Before the internet and during the early stages of the internet, the only way for a person to purchase their desserts is by going to a physical store or uncommonly ordering via telephone to be ready for pickup.

However, times have changed, the internet is faster, the devices we have are smart and efficient. Slowly but surely, desserts are being sold and bought online (through the internet); with a huge spike during our recent pandemic whereby we are all in lockdown. #stayathome

This has led to bakeries, patisseries and home-bakers evolving and innovating a new way of presenting their masterpieces online, via social media platforms and other internet platforms (website, eCommerce platform). It is no easy feat, unlike other non fragile, non-perishable products, and very different from your average food where you can stir-fry or cook right when the order comes, preparing cakes and desserts alike take time to be ready and even more, risky and harder to deliver.
